pH Balance
pH helps you understand your metabolic balance. See how your food choices (acidic meat vs. alkaline plants) directly affect your body's pH levels.

What is pH Balance?
Urine's potential of hydrogen, commonly known as pH, is a measure of how acidic or basic your urine is. The scale runs from 0 (highly acidic) to 14 (highly basic), with a perfect neutral 7 (pure water) sitting right in the middle.
Why does urine have pH levels?
While your blood must maintain a very strict range (7.35–7.45), your urine is most of the action happens. To keep this balance, your kidneys act as a filter, dumping excess acids or bases into your urine. This makes urine pH highly variable, ranging from 4.5 to 8.0, reflecting what your body is trying to get rid of to stay balanced.
Why track your pH?
Tracking pH is no longer a niche lab test; it’s becoming the secret weapon for elite performance. Legendary endurance athlete Kílian Jornet tracks his urinary pH to master his metabolic balance. By monitoring these levels, you can see in real-time how your diet impacts your endurance and recovery.
