Better measurement is collaborative work

BodyCheck sits at the intersection of test chemistry, machine vision, sensors, hardware, analytics, wellness, and human performance. Building across those disciplines requires more than a single internal viewpoint.

YouCount’s research, engineering, and health relationships include the National Science Foundation, the University of British Columbia, and the Canadian Space Agency. These relationships reflect the range of environments in which repeatable, non-invasive measurement can matter—from everyday performance routines to demanding research contexts.

What these relationships represent

For YouCount, institutional relationships are not decorative logos. They point to the standards of thinking required to build a controlled measurement platform:

  • Frame the problem precisely.
  • Separate the signal from avoidable noise.
  • Validate assumptions through disciplined testing.
  • Communicate what the product can and cannot do.

That last point is especially important in consumer health technology. BodyCheck is a wellness and performance platform. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose conditions, and is not a replacement for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

Bringing research discipline into a home routine

The product goal is to make sophisticated engineering feel simple to the user. A BodyCheck test takes about two minutes. Behind that routine is a controlled-light reader, machine vision, sensors, analytics, and a 12-marker configuration organized around Exercise & Recovery, Hydration, and Meals & Nutrition.

BodyCheck is engineered for precision and tested to CLSI standards. As the platform develops, YouCount will continue to use research and engineering relationships to challenge the system, improve repeatability, and keep product claims grounded in evidence.
